BOHO HEADBANDS!!

The beginning of headbands had started from the ancient Greeks who wore hair wreaths. The Greeks and Romans wore these pieces to very special occasions or an important event. Cultures such as the Etruscans and Romans started to decorate their wreaths with jewels made up of gold and silver. While wreaths are certainly a likely beginning of today's headbands, some believe that current day hair bands have slowly taken shape from scarves that were worn around the head or were modified from the band of hats that tied under the chin.
Down the ages, Wearing of these headbands has changed from being worn to special occasions and important events to more of a fashionable accessory.
The Bohemian Vibe is back in the form of head bands!!! So get out there and buy youself a piece or two... Or you can easily make one yourself!! Do check out the pics to get insights into the world of boho headbands.I have collected quite a number of pictures from different sites and these pictures do not belong to me. If anyone is violated, I will willingly remove them.

Mimi Renthlei's Wedding Day!!!

The Photographer's Favorite Shot.

Mimi Renthlei, a singer/songwriter from Mizoram tied the knot with Mark Varte on the sixth day of May, 2011 at Mission Veng, Synod 'Biakinpui' Aizawl. The Wedding Gown was purchased by the bride from Bangkok, which was made especially for her. (The name of the Designer is not told to me) And this Gown has made quite a lot of noises in and out of town (controversial ones too). Mimi carried off this gown with such confidence and poise! Apart from that, the make-up artist, Hlutea (HLUTEA HAIR AND BEAUTY, BAZAR BUNGKAWN) has done justice to the hair and make-up for the bride and a new look is discovered on this day for Mimi Renthlei, and I do not, in any way, complain! One thing I love about the bride is her bouquet, the flower is Cala lily, my personal favorite.
The Bride in her own house, a Charm behind a Chandelier.

And of course, the photographer, Dina (www.dinagrafix.com) had yet again, perfected the pictures which are absolutely stunning. I had the opportunity to be shot by the photographer here in this picture. More than a hundred comments came in my facebook wall post for this picture and I am so loving it! My Jumpsuit is made by Designer Muanpuii Chinzah from Aizawl, Mizoram. Bag from Louis Vuitton, Shoes from Hush Puppies.
Here is the bride with the make-up artist, Hlutea, a close friend of mine. So Congratulations to Mimi and Mark! May you live a healthy and wonderful life!!

Mimi, with her beautiful sense of humor is captured by Dina in this picture when the make-up is being done by Artist Hlutea.

Smaller looking lips look more elegant in a moderate amount of lip gloss applied. The Make-Up Artist Hlutea uses Pink Lipstick and Pink Lip Gloss, both from Christian Dior Make-Up Product. Bronzer from Christian Dior. The eye Make-Up Product used are from Chanel and M.A.C.. Foundation from L'Oreal True Match. Hair Spray from L'Oreal Infinium. False Eyelashes from INGLOT.

Coco Chanel

"The principle that women have to dress themselves, not for the pleasure of their men! Freedom is never out of style" - Coco Chanel.
Shirley Maclaine has done justice to the philosophy of Gabriele Bonheur Coco Chanel in this movie... Oh how I love Coco Chanel!!! Feminist View of life is produced in a new light by Coco Chanel in her own special ways... She is such an inspiration!

HEAD GEAR WITH FEATHERS

My love for Head gears has evolved from my reading of Coco Chanel's history in "The Life and Legend of Coco Chanel" by Justine Piccardie. Chanel was a miliner once in her life before she started her fashion designing business. A wonderful book really!! It is a MUST-buy, MUST-read book. I recommend it for anyone interested in Fashion and how Fashion has evolved through the modernist period into our post-modern world. And indeed, our very own "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Caroll gives us a clear picture of how mad a person can be when it comes to Hats... I'm not saying Head Gears are Hats, but both have the same origin as we might as well have known... Do read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hatter
"There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be as mad as a hatter."
These head gears are not mine nor are the pictures. But if it belongs to anyone, I will willingly delete them... I am just filled with so much passion for head gears right now and the past few months... "Black Swan" movie has also pushed me so hard to post this one here on my blog... So here I am... Hope ya'll like it.
Feathers aren't meant not only for sexual purposes, just so u know... They're meant to make you look more sophisticated, given the circumstances of wearing them as head gears... and of course, with a little bit of class and glamour!! Oh yes, CONFIDENCE TOO!!
These head gears make me speechless... so speechless indeed... wish I could grab some of them and actually wear them...
