Daphne Guiness F.I.T. Museum Exhibit Preview!

Daphne Guinness will be staging her own exhibit at the FIT Museum come September 16 2011. The Daphne Guinness FIT Museum Exhibit is co-curated by her and it features over 100 fashion items from her personal collection which include Gareth Pugh, Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, Shaun Leane (armor jewelry), Tom Ford, Azzedine Alaîa, Chanel, Christian Lacroix to name a few and also clothes designed by Daphne Guinness herself as well as shoes only Daphne Guinness can walk in. It was also reported that this exhibit took two years to prepare for. Check out the rest of the preview below.

Vanessa Paradis by Karl Lagerfeld. "Factory Story" in Madame Figaro Magazine May 2010.

Even though this Editorial was a bit out of date (Madame Figaro May 2010), I love the cinematic feeling of Lagerfeld's concept in the photography. I love this man for his high sense of artistic sensibility in anything that he does. Enjoy!

Vogue Italia September 2011 Editorial: Biana Balti

A very telling observation of today's seemingly western lifestyle is shown in Vogue Italia's Editorial September Issue. A child is seen as taking care of a grown woman (looks more like her mom) in this shoot by Miles Aldridge. Bianca Balti, the model looks more like a mannequin in this shoot as she appears to have no personality of her own. But I see this as an artistic portrayal of the new concept of a mother's love in the post modern world.

When I think about Fashion, the first person popping out of my mind from the post-modern era is always the one and only Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of American Vogue Magazine. She taught me, through her unending determination and high sense of Fashion, how I am supposed to look at the world around me in a new light. Many rude remarks have been thrown upon her, yes, we all know that, but the fact of the matter is: people do not want to appreciate her for her efforts towards the Fashion industry. She changes things and revolutionized the Fashion Magazine world with her pragmatic methods. Some people dislike her only to show that they like her so much.
