CHAPCHAR KUT 2012 MIZORAM PHOTOGRAPHS BY VARIOUS MIZO PHOTOGRAPHERS

CHAPCHAR KUT IS A FESTIVAL FOR MIZO PEOPLE IN MIZORAM, ONE OF THE NORTH EASTERN STATES IN INDIA. IT HAS BEEN CELEBRATED BY THE MIZO PEOPLE FOR ALMOST 2 CENTURIES. AND THIS YEAR'S CHAPCHAR KUT HAS SEEN PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO ARE SO GOOD WITH THEIR LENSES AND I COULD NOT HELP BUT STEAL THESE PHOTOGRAPHS FROM A RENOWNED GROUP ON FACEBOOK AND I THOUGHT OF POSTING IT ON MY BLOG SO THAT EVERYONE OF YOU MAY BE ABLE TO SEE THEM.

I love this picture because there is a connection here between the old and the new. It tells such a beautiful tale. The traditional dresses and the modern day shoes are but something that still go together really well. Pic by Bsa Sailo.

  7. Hi

I am with a children's textbook publisher in India. I was wondering if I could use one of your pictures (by Richard Hrahsel) of girls wearing a puanchei for use in a book for 6-year-old children. We print the names of contributors in the acknowledgement section of our books.
